About

Builds campaign URLs with UTM parameters in the browser. Those parameters only show up in reports if your analytics tool is already collecting campaign data.

How to build campaign URLs with UTM parameters

The UtilNexo UTM builder creates, validates and copies campaign URLs in your browser. Use it as a UTM generator, campaign URL builder, UTM link generator or Google Analytics URL builder — including a bulk UTM builder — without sending links to a server. Parameters only appear in reports if analytics is already installed on the destination site.

UTM stands for Urchin Tracking Module. The values live in the query string: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, plus optional utm_term, utm_content and utm_id. Analytics reads them to attribute a visit to an ad, email or post.

utm_source is the origin (google, newsletter, partner). utm_medium is the channel (cpc, email, social, affiliate). utm_campaign names the push (spring-sale). utm_term stores a paid-search keyword. utm_content splits two creatives in the same campaign. utm_id maps the click to an ads-platform ID.

Naming that holds up in reports: lowercase, hyphens instead of spaces, no accents, and one shared vocabulary. Common mistakes include mixing Google and google, skipping the medium, or assuming the parameter itself turns tracking on.

The bulk UTM builder applies the same parameters to many URLs, one per line, and flags invalid rows. You can copy the results or export a CSV. Presets cover Google Ads, Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, newsletters, affiliates and QR codes.

Related UtilNexo tools: URL Encode/Decode to inspect the query, the QR Code generator to print the link, and the URL validator to check the base address.

Examples

  • https://shop.com/sale + google / cpc / black-friday → https://shop.com/sale?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=black-friday
  • A URL with ?ref=partner keeps ref and adds or replaces UTM keys.
  • https://shop.com/page#pricing keeps the #pricing fragment after the query.

Limitations

  • This tool does not install analytics or confirm that the destination collects campaigns.
  • Only http and https are accepted. Bulk mode processes at most 100 URLs so the browser stays responsive.
  • History stays in this device’s localStorage and can be cleared by the browser.

How to use the UTM Builder

  1. 1Paste the website URL, including https://.
  2. 2Fill in source, medium and campaign — or pick a preset.
  3. 3Add term, content, ID or custom parameters if you need them.
  4. 4Copy the URL, open it in a new tab, or run a bulk list and export CSV.

Frequently asked questions

What is a UTM builder?

It is a campaign URL builder: you enter a destination and UTM values, and get a link ready for ads, email or a QR code.

Does this turn on Google Analytics automatically?

No. UTM parameters only work if GA4 (or another platform) is already on the site and collecting campaign data.

Can I generate many links at once?

Yes. The bulk UTM builder applies the same parameters to each line and marks invalid URLs.

Do my URLs leave this computer?

No. Building, validation, history and CSV export all run locally in the browser.
