About

Checks the format of Pix keys (CPF, CNPJ, email, phone or random). Useful for avoiding errors in payments.

How to validate a Pix key correctly

The Pix key validator identifies and checks the format of each of the four key types: CPF, email, phone number, and random key (UUID). It helps review keys before registering or sharing them.

Pix accepts four key types. The CPF follows the 11-digit pattern with a check digit, the email has a standard format, the phone uses country code + area code + number, and the random key is a UUID (8-4-4-4-12 format).

The tool automatically detects which type was entered and validates accordingly, flagging when the key does not match any of the formats accepted by the Brazilian Central Bank.

It is important to understand that validating the format does not confirm the key is active or linked to an account. That check is only possible in the banking system, at the time of a transaction.

Examples

  • 529.982.247-25 → valid (CPF type).
  • name@domain.com → valid (email type) or 123456 → invalid (matches no type).

Limitations

  • Validation checks the format, not the existence or status of the key with the Brazilian Central Bank.
  • Random keys follow the UUID pattern, but the tool does not check whether they have already been registered.
